DTI NORTHERN IRELAND EQUALITY SCHEME: CONSULTATION
ON THE SCREENING OF THE DTI’S POLICIES, FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES
The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI)
Northern Ireland Equality Scheme sets out how the DTI aims to meet its statutory obligations under
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act
1998.
The DTI has carried out a systematic review (“screening”) of all of its policies, functions and activities in Northern Ireland in terms of the impact on equality of opportunity for the nine categories in the Act. The
Report of this review is now available and is the subject of a public consultation from
3 March to 23 May 2003.
We would welcome your views. if you would like to comment on any aspect of the
Report, including the list of policies the DTI proposes to subject to full equality impact assessment, you may wish to use the
consultation response questionnaire.
Alternatively, if you would like to discuss the Report or give views on the impact of DTI’s programmes and policies in Northern Ireland it may be possible to
meet representatives of DTI in Northern Ireland in April or May. Please contact the Equality Impact Team for further details as below.
