Consultation on Proposals to Tighten Consumer Protection against Short Measure of Draught Beer and Cider. This consultation seeks your views on the proposal  to amend the Weights and Measures (Intoxicating Liquor) Order 1988 (SI 1988/2039) to ensure that the quantities in which draught beer and cider are sold (pint or half pint) comprise not less than 95% liquid, including the liquid (but not the gas) in any head of froth.

The Sale of Consumer Goods Directive sets a minimum baseline for consumers' rights across Member States. Its impact on the extensive body of existing UK legislation is relatively modest but it is  important that the changes are transposed properly and after consultation with stakeholders.

Annual Percentage Rate: Consultation  A consultation document whose main proposal is to implement the amendment to the European Consumer Credit Directive 87/102 adopted on 16 February 1998, which requires the use of a single mathematical formula for the calculation of the Annual Percentage Rate of charge (APR). Amendment is to enable consumers to compare credit offers in different member states.
