DTI's Role
Welcome
to the Postal Services sector pages of the DTI website. The DTI's remit in this area encompasses both national and international postal affairs and the nationwide
network of post offices. We are responsible for the
Government's policy on postal services (including the regulatory framework) and
represent the UK's interests in
international postal organisations. We also have some
responsibilities in the parcel, courier and philatelic industry
areas. The DTI, along with the Treasury, are the sole shareholders of Royal Mail Holdings plc.
For further information on the DTI's role in this sector see the
sections on Government and UK
Policy.
