The money will be used to increase the number of staff who are trained in meeting the needs of people nearing the end of their lives. It will also be able to offer them support in the setting of their choice. £12 million to improve care for the dying

John Prescott as Scrooge

Stop Scrooge this Christmas

Last winter in England and Wales, 21,800 older people died as a direct result of the cold. The total figure for the past ten years has reached well over 330,000. Year on year these figures spell out the same story of thousands of unnecessary deaths due to cold-related illnesses. Help the Aged is calling on the Government to adopt the Scottish Central Heating Scheme giving all older people the right to affordable heating.  Send John Prescott an e-card urging him to help end this scandal. Stop Scrooge this Christmas
