Forestry Commission

The Forestry Commission of Great Britain is the government department responsible for the protection and expansion of Britain's forests and woodlands.

Following devolution, the Commission restructured itself to allow the three countries to deliver the respective Government policies in England, Scotland and Wales. To find out more, click on any of the countries on the right.

There's nothing like a trip to nature's very own gym to help burn off the unwanted Christmas calories. Our forest network is home to hundreds of biking trails and walks so there's always something for everyone. Peace and quiet and loads of fresh air - sounds great!

Use our recreation database to find somewhere to go, or something to do, near you.
