Note: This consultation has now closed. A summary of responses, and an indication of what actions the Government intends to take following the consultation, will be published in due course. The following material has been left in place for reference/archive purposes. This consultation seeks views on a draft groundwater protection code for the use of solvents, which has been drawn up by the Department's consultants. The draft code which would apply in England and Wales is intended to assist those using solvents to comply with the legal requirements of the Groundwater Regulations 1998 and to prevent groundwater pollution. The Department to is keen to draw on the practical knowledge of the target audience for the code - i.e. those using solvents in a facility or as part of a process - as well as those with an interest in groundwater protection. Comments on the clarity, practicality and effectiveness of the code together with examples or other explanation to support your views would be particularly helpful. The document together with the Department's letter to consultees is available in Adobe Acrobat format for downloading as follows: Further information is available on our Help
