Proposal for a Directive on the Promotion of Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power) based on Useful Heat Demand in the Internal Energy Market - Consultation

The European Union has published a Proposal for a Directive on the Promotion of Cogeneration based on Useful Heat Demand in the Internal Energy Market. Those who might be interested in the Proposal will include the electricity generation and distribution industries, operators of combined heat and power plants, manufacturers of CHP technology, the public sector, the construction industry, businesses, energy efficiency organisations, and other stakeholders.

A consultation on the proposal was launched on 25 September 2002 and interested parties are invited to read the letter issued by Defra, together with the European Commission's Published Document, and send their comments for consideration to officials at Defra by 21 December 2002.
