Is your business on the move? Change of address service

Defra and other government departments are taking part in a pilot scheme co-ordinated by the government's Small Business Service to allow businesses to tell government departments that they are moving using the internet.

If you are a farmer in England you can use this service to tell Defra that you are moving (and tell other government departments at the same time).

Your local Rural Development Service Regional Office, Defra Censuses and Surveys, the Rural Payments Agency and your local Animal Health Divisional Office (if appropriate) will be informed of your move and you can also choose to inform the British Cattle Movement Service as well.

You can read all about the service on the Small Business Service's website and from there you can choose one of the independent service providers' websites to register your moving details: they are I Have Moved.com, Simply Move and Royal Mail.

As this is a pilot service we would be very keen to hear from you if you have any difficulty using it or have any comments. Please email us through bcoa.feedback@defra.gsi.gov.uk
