The role of the Management Board is to give corporate strategic leadership to the Department. The members of the Management Board are listed below: Permanent Secretary (Brian Bender) in the chair Director General, Environmental Protection (Bill Stow) Director General, Food, Farming and Fisheries (Andy Lebrecht) Director General, Land Use and Rural Affairs (Anna Walker) Solicitor and Director General, Legal Services (Donald Macrae) Director General, Operations and Service Delivery (Mark Addison) Chief Veterinary Officer and Director General, Animal Health (Jim Scudamore) Chief Scientific Advisor (Howard Dalton) Finance Director (Andrew Burchell) Communications Director (Lucian Hudson) Non-executive directors (Bill Griffiths, Elizabeth Ransom and Richard Wakeford) Director of Policy and Corporate Strategy Unit (Francesca Okosi) Bill Griffiths previously had a career in finance and general management in Unilever and later ICI and INEOS, he now has a portfolio career which includes being a Non-Executive Director of the Department for International Development, and Chair of its Audit and Finance Committee. Elizabeth Ransom was a partner at KPMG, where she led work on Central Government, focussing on managing change and improving performance. Richard Wakeford is the Chief Executive of the Countryside Agency. |
