Functions from the former MAFF, DETR and the Home Office were transferred into the new Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) in June 2001. MAFF news releasesDETR news releasesNews releases issued by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) prior to the General Election in June 2001, have not been transferred to the Defra website, and in general, remain available on the website of the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR). However, because of changes to the DTLR website, the website addresses of news releases have all changed, and news releases prior to November 1999 are now only available via the Government News Network site.
