FCO TOPS: ZIMBABWE
In response to a Parliamentary Question about Zimbabwe on 27 November, the Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, told the House of Commons that he was deeply concerned about recent events in the country. He said that he deplored President Mugabe’s violent policies and his violations of democracy, and that he was committed to working with the Commonwealth, the EU and other southern African states to rectify the situation.
