HOLIDAYMAKERS WARNED: 'EURO CASH IS COMING. DON’T BE LEFT OUT OF POCKET'
Peter Hain, Europe Minister, and Ruth Kelly, Treasury Minister, today launched a leaflet setting out what the euro will mean for British travellers to Europe and how the public should prepare for the changeover. From 1 January, shops in 12 eurozone countries will price their goods in euros. The Europe Minister warned that ‘British travellers need to prepare for the Euro, or they might be left out of pocket’. He added ‘The Government’s leaflet contains important information that UK travellers to Europe need to know. … I urge people planning to travel to Europe next year to get hold of a copy’.
