To find out how to apply, contact the student support services at the college or learning provider where you plan to study. They will be able to tell you if you’re eligible, what’s available and what you need to do to apply.
If you received ALG in 2010/11, you’ll get a ‘Notice of Entitlement’ for 2011/12. Take this to your college or learning provider. If you’re continuing on the same course as in 2010/11 and your college confirms that your attendance is satisfactory, you’ll still get your weekly ALG payments.
If you have any questions about your ALG, contact the Learner Support helpline.
For ideas on what to study, talk to the student services team at your local college, or contact Next Step. You can get free advice from Next Step - online, by phone or email and face-to-face. For more information on adult learning see the Next Step website.
