The Infant Mortality National Support Team (IMNST) was launched in autumn 2008.
It supports the 43 areas with the highest burden of infant mortality in the routine and manual group, to reduce infant mortality in disadvantaged groups and improve maternal and child health and well-being.
The IMNST provides consultancy-style, tailored support, providing local solutions based on credible expertise and a diagnostic framework.
