“You have to think global in this day and age, because why confine yourself to one particular market if you’ve got a product or service that works just as well elsewhere. Exporting can certainly help your company grow, but just as importantly, it can help your company weather an economic storm far more effectively too. That’s our approach, and it’s one we’ll continue to pursue in conjunction under the guidance of UK Trade and Investment.”

Halifax firm puts future Gulf leaders on the road to greater success

Future leaders in Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are using expert insight from a Halifax training company to set them on the road to greater success.

The latest venture for Summit Consulting and Training, based in Greetland, is an exclusive partnership with Damman based KNZ Learning & Training Company to deliver a series of development programmes for managers and corporate leaders across the Kingdom and beyond.

The new service, which officially launched earlier this month, strengthens Summit’s growing global portfolio and international standing as a trusted market leader.

“The standard of corporate management development in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region varies significantly, and our partnership with KNZ will help to address that issue and create a more level playing field for aspiring managers of the future,” explained Scott Watson, founder and managing director of Summit.

“The major problem in the management education sector is that training and development programmes are usually bought off the shelf a kind of ‘one size fits all’ approach. That simply doesn’t add value to the client and certainly isn’t the way Summit operates”.

“We specialise in bespoke solutions that reflect individual needs, business priorities and company aspirations. You achieve a far greater return on investment this way, and the growing demand for our services over three-thousand miles away from our home market proves we’re adopting the right approach.”

Summit has trained and supported more than 10,000 executives across the globe, with the likes of DHL, GE and Radisson Hotels amongst its client base.

The company is working closely with UK Trade and Investment to expand its global operation, using the Targeted Export Support Scheme, Gateway to Global Growth and other services to identify new markets and attend key networking events.

Scott is encouraging others to consider exporting. He added: “Our international operation currently equates to approximately 40 percent of our total turnover, and with our ongoing commitment to exporting, it may well dwarf our domestic income in years to come.

UKTI International trade advisor Brian Aungiers is working with Summit to help achieve that goal. He commented: “Summit is a great example of a local company that is achieving international acclaim through the strength of its bespoke services and solutions.

“Scott and his team have tremendous drive and ambition, and their success to date in the Arabian Gulf region bodes extremely well for the future”.
