Kay Dickinson

Executive Director

Kay is an Executive Director at the UK Commission; she was originally appointed as Director of Corporate Services when the UK Commission for Employment and Skills was first established by Government in April 2008. Prior to that, Kay was Director of Corporate Services for the Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA) (one of the UK Commission’s predecessor organisations) since the SSDA was first established in 2002.

Kay has overall responsibility for Procurement and Contracting, Business Planning, Corporate Governance, Finance and Performance for the UK Commission. Kay also leads on one of the UK Commissions four outcomes: more employers investing in the skills of their people.

Kay is responsible, as the lead Director for Northern Ireland, for managing our strategic relationship with the Northern Ireland Government.

Although a Director of Corporate Services, Kay has also worked on a variety of different projects within the UK Commission including performance management of Sector Skills Councils, managing the transition from the Sector Skills Development Agency to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, and the integration of Investors in People UK.

Kay is a qualified accountant (FCMA) and has previously worked in both the public and private sectors.
