Appointment of Lord-Lieutenant for Wigtown

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mrs Marion Teresa Brewis as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Wigtown upon the retirement of Major Edward Stuart Orr Ewing on 28 September 2006.

Biographical Notes

Mrs Marion Brewis previously worked for the GPO and then the Civil Service.  She became a JP in 1991 and is currently Chair of the Wigtown District Bench.  In 1995 she was appointed as a lay Chair of the NHS Independent Appeals Tribunal in Dumfries and Galloway. 

Mrs Brewis is a member of the Wigtown Save the Children Fund, the Wigtown Girlguiding Executive Committee, and is the District Organiser for Scotland’s Gardens Scheme.
