Cutting the cake

Catalogue Reference:(BCA) ED Wedding 7

This photograph was probably taken by Malcolm Dyche who acted as the official photographer for a wedding in Birmingham in the early 1960s. The bride and groom stand behind a table ready to cut the first slice of their three-tiered wedding cake. Traditionally the top tier of a wedding cake, is reserved for the christening celebration of the first child.
