The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) is the professional body for geography. One of its aims is to stimulate the awareness and enjoyment of geography at all levels, for all people, both in the UK and around the world.
The Society supports over 22 research groups; promotes geography within the National Curriculum; produces scholarly publications; provides training in scientific field techniques; assists personal development in young people through expeditions; presents a popular national lecture series; and provides advice and information through its large map collection, library, and picture library.
Currently working with Moving Here to create National Curriculum material for launch in early 2007.
