Information held by HM Treasury regarding material relating to meetings  and correspondence over the decision to adopt an inflation target announced  by Norman Lamont in October 1992

Disclosure:
The information released in the seven attachments consists of notes, letters and minutes of meetings relating to the introduction of inflation targeting announced in October 1992.  Issues covered in these documents include options for devising a new monetary policy framework and the merits of adopting an inflation target.

A small amount of information has been exempted under Section 35(1)(a) and Section 29 of the FOI Act.
