Coal Health Claims

Malcolm Wicks MP, Minister of State for Energy

There are two schemes to compensate coal miners and their families in relation to respiratory disease and Vibration White Finger (VWF).  These are the biggest personal injury schemes in British legal history and possibly the world.

At the end of 2005 Malcolm Wicks accepted in full the recommendations of an independent review into the running of the coal health compensation schemes. The report is available via the publications link on the left.

Information on these schemes can be found by clicking on one of the links on the left hand side.
