Understanding higher education institutional performance

HEFCE was asked by the Secretary of State to consider issues relevant to understanding higher education institutional performance. Its report can be found below

The report answered the following questions:

  • How can we better understand and measure the performance of higher education institutions in ways that recognise the individual missions of each one?
  • What possible performance measures of quality are there and how can such measures can take account of the different missions of different institutions?

HEFCE's report is available to read below, along with the original remit letter sent by the Secretary of State.

You can join the discussion by providing your views on any aspect of HEFCE's report at the JISCInvolve hosted DIUS blog on understanding institutional performance.
