Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO)
UK Reports to the EC on the promotion of Biofuels
The UK reports annually to the European Commision under Article 4 of the Biofuels Directive (2003/30/EC) on the promotion of the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels for transport. These reports fulfil the UK's obligation to report to the European Commission by 1 July each year on the effectiveness of the UK Government's support for biofuels during the previous calender year.

Advice on impacts of Government support for biodiesel production from tallow
This review was commissioned by the Department for Transport to consider the potential impacts of the RTFO on the other users of tallow as a feedstock, particularly the UK's oleochemical industry. The review is not a statement of Government policy. The Government will be discussing its findings further with stakeholders over the months ahead, and will consider them carefully in the context of current EU negotiations on future biofuel targets.
Review of indirect impacts terms of reference for biofuels review
This document sets out the terms of reference for the review of the indirect impacts of biofuel policies that the Secretary of State announced on 21 February. It makes clear that the review will focus on recent evidence on the indirect or "displacement" impacts of biofuel production, both within the EU and internationally and make an objective, evidence-based assessment of the risks and uncertainty around these impacts and how this can be quantified.
