Armed Forces Memorial

Synopsis

Using the Armed Forces Memorial as an aid to discussion and debate, this lesson get students thinking and talking about the importance of remembering men and women who have lost their lives in service to our country. Through the video students will hear families, friends and colleagues talk about their loved ones who have died to gain an appreciation of their loss. Students are encouraged to discuss and debate who should be remembered and the relative importance and significance of remembering these people. The vital role of veterans and current members of the Armed Forces is acknowledged and the extension task requires students to research and write an article about a veteran's experience of war.
