Delivery
- Conclude the physical part of this lesson by completing the warm-up exercises outlined in Student Worksheet 1 as a cool-down.
- Explain to students that once they have finished any form of physical activity, they need to gradually allow their heart rate and breathing to lower to a comfortable level, where talking can be performed with ease.
- Ensure that students understand the need to decrease body temperature following exercise until their normal body temperature is reached.
- Ensure that students stretch adequately as part of the cool-down process to avoid muscle soreness the following day.
Differentiation
Higher Ability:
Student should measure their heart rate until it reaches resting level.
