Get the low-down on ten cities, written by the folk that live there

The 24 Hour Museum has created these guides to enable real and virtual visitors to explore the cultural richness and heritage of ten cities in England - whether it's an exhibit at a local museum, recommended activities for children or a facinating nugget of inside information from a local resident. Each City Heritage Guide contains cultural information, news, reviews and special features; local history stories plus a dedicated 'By Kids For Kids' section.

Contributors to the guides come from community groups, local history societies and after-school clubs. All the information on the site is accessible and inclusive. Where appropriate, the guides' content is available in languages other than English, such as Gujarati and Urdu.

City Heritage Guides give visitors to Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Leicester, Bristol, Norwich, Brighton and London a richer, more vibrant and accessible map of their chosen city.

This website won the New Media award in the Education category in 2005.
