The Future of the Fire Service: Reducing Risk, Saving Lives (Bain Report) 2002

In September 2002, Communities and Local Government (then known as the Office of the Deputy Prime Minster) invited Professor Sir George Bain, together with Professor Sir Michael Lyons and Sir Tony Young, to consider the future organisation of the Fire and Rescue Service.

The outcome of this review was the publication of the Bain Report 2002, full title The Future of the Fire Service: reducing risk, saving lives - The Independent Review of the Fire Service

The summary and full document of the Bain Report 2002 are available via the FRS Online website, via the links on the right hand side of this page.
