Office of the Government Chief Information Officer

Chief Information Officer Council

The Prime Minister has set the CIO Council members and their staff the mission of “ensuring that IT supports the business transformation of Government itself so that we can provide better, more efficient, public services.”

Chief Technology Officer

The CTO Council is the cross–government body responsible for supporting ‘joining-up’ at a technological level.

Information Security & Assurance

The ISA unit within the Cabinet Office works to protect IT and electronic communication systems in the UK and raise awareness of the need for protection.

IT Profession

The Government IT Profession brings together all IT professionals working across the UK public sector: UK government departments and agencies, local government, the emergency services and specialist deliverers such as the health sector.
