Joint International Unit

The Joint International Unit (JIU) plays a key role in taking forward the international agenda of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills

The JIU provides support, advice and guidance to Ministers and policy makers on the international dimension in education. It ensures effective representation in cross-Whitehall departmental groups, the EU and other international fora so that the UK's education policies and programmes are promoted and explained. The JIU also takes the lead in developing and promoting collaboration in education with our priority countries.
