Richard review of apprenticeships: call for evidence

Open date: 26 Jun 2012

Closing date: 07 Sep 2012

Invites stakeholders to contribute their views to a call for evidence on the Richard review of apprenticeships

The Departments for Business, Innovation & Skills and Education appointed Doug Richard, serial entrepreneur and early investor, to lead an independent review into the future of apprenticeships.

The review aims to:

  • take a medium-long term look at the future of apprenticeships in England
  • identify best practice and ensure that going forward, apprenticeships meet the needs of the changing economy
  • deliver the qualifications and skills which employers need, to world class benchmarks
  • ensure that government is maximising the impact of public investment in apprenticeships.

It will be conducted over the summer 2012. Doug Richard is expected to report on his findings and recommendations in the autumn.

The call for evidence and supplementary documents were published on 26 June 2012 and are available below. Anyone wishing to respond to the call for evidence should do so by 7 September 2012.
