UK National Reform Programme

NRP Update on Progress

Member States are required to submit annual reports on their NRPs outlining progress made over the previous 12 months.

Copies of the UK Government's National Reform Programme (NRP) of 2005, subsequent updates of October 2006 and September 2007 as well as the NRP for 2008 can be accessed via the external links section of this page.  This year's NRP update is due to be published in September.

The Commission also proposes country-specific recommendations as part of the assessment of Member States' reforms, which are approved by Heads of Government at the Spring European Council in March every year. For more information, see the EU Commission's web pages on "Growth and Jobs"(see related links section on right).

Stakeholder dialogue

Stakeholder engagement is a key part in the preparation of the NRPs and their updates -

The Government hosted a stakeholder seminar on 22nd June 2009 to discuss the contribution of stakeholders to delivering the Lisbon Strategy in the UK and their views on what the priorities for economic reform should be.  If you would like to provide information about how your organisation has contributed to the implementation of the Lisbon Strategy in the UK, or have any other comments, please email the BIS Europe team at the following address: nrp.2009@bis.gsi.gov.uk
