Road Transport Energy Consumption at Regional and Local Authority Level

DECC has released consumption statistics for fuels used in road transport at regional and local levels, which are available below.

In March 2008 this dataset gained National Statistics status. This applies to all data from 2005 onwards. Please note that the 2002, 2003 and 2004 datasets are still classed as experimental statistics.

Details about how the information on road transport fuels consumption has been collected and collated can be found in the articles in the June editions of Energy Trends from 2005 onwards.

AEA Energy & Environment (formerly Netcen) provided the figures. They are a leading provider of consultancy, technical services and field services in air quality, contaminated land and waste management. AEA Energy & Environment runs the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) that is used by government departments, local authorities, regulators and industry.
