LONDON DISTRICT REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE

 

To provide quality, timely training and training support to the TA, in order to prepare officers and soldiers for their unit appointments or for more advanced training, and to enhance TA retention.

 

 

Welcome to the website of the London District Regional Training Centre (LDRTC).  Together with the other Regional Training Centres our mission in support of London District Units is to:

 

 

Deliver mandatory and authorised courses as directed by LONDON DISTRICT and HQ LAND to TA Officers and NCOs.

 

Lead on the delivery of TA Potential Officer Training in LONDON DISTRICT.

 

Provide training support and validation to LONDON DISTRICT Units to ensure military personnel are trained to CT1.

 

in order to contribute to the military capability of London District.

 

TRAINING AND TRAINING SUPPORT

 

London District Regional Training Centre provides training and training support to TA Units in London District. Members of the Regular Services are also welcome on our Specialist Courses.

 

SPECIALIST COURSES

 

LDRTC trains and qualifies Territorial and Regular Army instructors to conduct specialist training in their own Units. Courses can also be conducted at Unit locations or during Annual Training Periods (ATP) if required. Training support is also available to Units planning and conducting their own training. Specialist Instructor qualifying courses are available in:

 

·        Range Management

·        Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defence   

·        Defence Instruction Techniques

·        Battlefield First Aid

·        Physical Training instruction

 

and

 

·        Military Knowledge 1 for Junior Officers

·        Command Post Skills

TERRITORIAL ARMY POTENTIAL OFFICER TRAINING

In conjunction with 4 Div RTC, LDRTC also trains Territorial Army Potential Officers (TAPOs) and can advise Units on the Territorial Army Commissioning Course (TACC). LDRTC manages all aspects of this training including the booking of TAPOs on to the Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB) and TACC Module 4 which is conducted at RMAS. 

 

 

TERRITORIAL ARMY RECRUIT TRAINING

 

Recruit training for LONDON DISTRICT Units is provided by 4 Div RTC (SE) at Malta Barracks, Aldershot. It is designed to provide both Infantry and non-Infantry recruits with basic level training in line with the (CMS(R) TA 06).

 

FURTHER INFORMATION

 

On our web site you will find further details of programmed residential training courses which are available over the period 1 Apr 08 – 31 Mar 09. Commanders are encouraged to use this web site to plan career enhancing courses for their soldiers whilst Soldiers are advised to use the site to identify courses available. Course bids must be submitted through their Unit Training Officers. Copies of our Course Calendar and Courses Handbook are available to download.
