Advantage West Midlands was established as the Regional Development Agency (RDA) for the West Midlands in 1999. Nine RDAs were created in England to drive sustainable economic development and social and physical regeneration through a business-led approach.
Since 1999, the Agency has been working to build a stronger West Midlands economy by delivering real benefits to the businesses, places and people of the region. To learn more about the work of the Agency, download a copy of Advantage West Midlands: Making a difference 1999 - 2012.
In June 2010 the Government announced that all RDAs, including Advantage West Midlands, will close by March 2012, with economic development and regeneration to be led by central Government departments and newly-created Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).
