  The latest national statistics on Electricity Consumption at Local Authority Level, and Gas Consumption at Local Authority Level produced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change were released on 23rd December 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
 		  
  Both releases include statistics on domestic and industrial/commercial consumption in the local authorities of the Great Britain during 2007. The data are produced using meter point data from the electricity suppliers and gas transporters.
 		  
 

The latest releases update the statistics previously released on 3rd January 2008, which related to 2006.
