| The latest National Statistics on business start-ups and
closures produced by the Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory
Reform were released on 28th November 2008 according to the arrangements
approved by the UK Statistics Authority. Business Start-ups and Closures: VAT registrations and de-registrations statistics show the number of VAT registrations and de-registrations in the UK in 2007 and the stock of registered businesses at the start of 2008. Four sets of additional tables accompany the release which include statistics on registrations, de-registrations, stock of VAT registered businesses for the UK and each Country, Government Office Region, County, Parliamentary Constituency and District between 1994-2007. |

released. The Office for National Statistics have released a new
National Statistics series on business births, deaths and survival
rates, also on 28th November 2008 click
