This is a fantastic idea and a great move forward to give woman equal rights. My partner and I are expecting a baby later this year. My earnings are greater than his and more importantly my passion and enjoyment for work is greater. I will more efficient in the work place and he will be a great at home with our baby. This is great move to give couples like us more choice.
It is great to give more choice to individuals about child care. Modern Britain deserves modern policies. Unfotunately though it will create more complexity and therefore burdon for employers.
The disruptive potential to companies is enormous by not knowing who will be taking what in the way of parentl leave is outrageous. The working pattern in one company can be decided by decisions taken by an employee in another. How can anyone control that situation. I know times have changed but don’t believe it is for the better.
