Message from the Officer Commanding
Welcome to 32 Headquarters & Support Squadron's website. I hope that you find it informative, useful and perhaps even entertaining!
The Squadron is probably the happiest one I have served in, and I know that most members feel the same. This is in large part due to the way in which we do business. Each member of the Squadron is valued for their particular skills and experience and is treated as a 'grown up'. Individual effort and ability is recognised and achievements are rewarded. The job will always come first but the Squadron is only as good as the willingness of its members. Whenever possible we try to keep morale high by achieving the correct balance between commitments, individual aspirations and personal needs.
We practice Mission Command and once direction is given we expect tasks to be executed with the minimun of supervision. Being proactive and using initiative is encouraged, so long as it falls within the commander's intent. The Squadron is very much a team effort and members are expected to assist one another in achieving the common goal. Communication is key and dialogue should always be via the chain of command. That said the doors of the OC, 2IC and SSM are (almost) always open.
If you are posted to the Squadron then congratulations - I'll see you soon. If you require advice before arrival then call the Squadron Sergeant Major on 94711 4387 or 01765 632387. For assistance call one of the staff whose numbers are included in this site under welfare.
Regards
Major A M Reid
