Displays 2008

The team successfully completed over 50 displays in 2008 and helped over 70 AFF students and over 150 static line students to there skydiving status. The display season 2008 for some was there first and the learning curve was high, but the team training at the start of the year was very beneficial and 08 was a very good season for all. Viewed by over 300.000 spectators and potential Royal Artillery recruits the team were very keen to get out there and promote the Royal Artillery.

        All our shows saw the team do the good stuff then get amongst the crowd handing out leaflets and giving advice to the young and old about joining the Royal Artillery. All the team are fully trained in there roles as recruiters and found it easy to offer help and advise to the public about  different jobs within the core. With the season at a close were already receiving contracts for 2009 which is shaping up to be another good season for the Black Knights.

 We did 50 displays last season. These ranged from Public Events such as school open days to jumping into different Football Clubs to county shows. Military Events ranged from an Army Cadet Force Annual Camp to the Honourable Artillery Company Summer Ball and the Defence Academy Shirvenham. On some occasions we were challenged with a variety of problems; such as aircraft problems, bad weather, changing of times or tight schedules imposed on us by Air Traffic Control. Despite these intriguing times, the Team over came them and accomplished 53 shows. Three displays were not achieved due to aircraft problems that required an engineer’s attention, and bad weather which is out of our control.
