Information for potential Employers
As a Formation or Unit commander, Senior UKBC or Department Head you will without doubt on occasion encounter a shortfall in key staff. This can occur for a number of reasons, particularly through operational tour requirements, a lack of suitably qualified military or UKBC staff to take up an open or forthcoming appointment or indeed "one off "projects, where expertise in a particular field would be extremely useful.

It is quite possible that a potential highly qualified candidate is registered with the GLSU and feeling rather frustrated because on registering for work they have found that no opportunities exist in their field of work.

How to use the register

The register is expected to grow as more and more potential applicants become aware of its existence. You can access the register by clicking the button on the top right of this screen. If you find a potential applicant for the position in question then simply click the button on the right of the individual entry and you will be taken to the home page of the relevant GLSU. You will find contact details further down the GLSU page. The ideal contact point will be the Recruiting Clerk for the station in question. The GLSU will contact the applicant and get them either to contact you, or they will make other arrangements to suit your needs.

Information for those wishing to be included on the register

A
s a member of the BFG  community you may have a particular professional qualification or skill and have found that your local Garrison Labour Support Unit (GLSU) has not been able to assist you further in finding work, simply because they do not employ people in your particular field. Please note that the GLSU is not in a position to simply "create a job", even if you have a very interesting or worthwhile profession or skill to offer. The GLSU reacts to unit requirements which in turn must be backed up by financial approval from the respective budgetary area.

If you have found that your local GLSU is not in a position to assist you further as they do not have the scope of jobs to match your particular profession or skill, then please ask them to place you on the Skills Register. We cannot guarantee employment but we can publish details of your particular profession or skill which may in turn improve your employment chances.

Interested?

Then please give your GLSU the following information and we will publish your details as soon as possible.

Your name will of course not be shown, simply your profession/skill.
The following detail will be required:

1.       Details of Profession/Skill (including formal qualifications).

2.       The Station where you live.

3.       Distance prepared to travel (radius), or simply name the other
stations to which you would be prepared to travel.

4.       Whether you are mobile or not.

5.       Preferred working hours.
