The Royal Regiment of Scotland has been revealed as the recipient of one of the highest number of medals for gallantry and meritorious service awarded to the British Army for actions in Iraq since 2003. Members of the Regiment have received 48 awards in total, third only to the Royal Engineers and the Royal Logistic Corps, and which is around 7.5% of all awards made to the Army for Operation TELIC. "Ladies from Hell" cd now available
Mon 18th February has seen the release on CD of "Ladies from Hell", written arranged and composed by Mr Terry Moore. The title of the CD refers to the nick name given to kilted Scottish soldiers by the Kaiser's army during the early days of the First World War in 1914 in respect of their ferocious fighting skills. The song commemorates the old Scottish Infantry Regiments of the Line who merged on 28 March 2006 to form the new Royal Regiment of Scotland.
There will be a press event at Edinburgh Castle at 11am on the 28th of March o publicise the CD. Proceeds of the sale of each CD will go to Combat Stress and the Regimental Association of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, both registered service charities.
