HQ 102 Logistic Brigade and HQ Gütersloh Garrison are both commanded by one Brigadier but they have very different roles. On a day to day basis, however, they work very much together and many issues are dealt with by staff from both HQs. The Deputy Garrison Commander, who is a Colonel, assists the Commander with Garrison issues.

General Information
HQ Gütersloh Garrison is the organisation that runs the infrastructure of the Garrison. It encompasses Gütersloh, Bielefeld and Herford Stations. Throughout this large area, the HQ co-ordinates such matters as housing, welfare, property maintenance, and health and safety at work. This list is far from exhaustive, but whether you are a serving soldier, dependant or civil servant there are few areas of your life from the house you live in to the school you send your children to that are not influenced in some ways by the Garrison HQ. Due to all these diverse areas of responsibility, there are many different departments working for the Garrison HQ, and not all of these are located in the main HQ building at Princess Royal Barracks or even in the same camp or town. HQ Gütersloh Garrison is subordinate (with effect from 1st April 2001) to HQ United Kingdom Support Command (Germany) located at Rheindahlen, from which it receives policy and funding.
HQ Gütersloh Garrison has the following major units within its boundaries:
