Since the Strategic Defence Review (SDR) of 1998, the TA hasbeen changing rapidly to adopt a greater mobilization culture and100 Regiment is no different. Our soldiers have found that theyhave been most welcome and integrated completely into the regularregiments. Listed below are some of the recent operations forwhich we have we have provided troops.
Iraq
The Regiment has been heavily involved with Operation TELIC(Iraq) from day one of the campaign. Through the various stages of the operation, from the war fighting phase through to thecurrent Peace Support Operations (PSO), we have sent reservists to reinforce regiments such as 7th Parachute Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, 26 Regiment and 32 Regiment fulfilling a variety of roles.
Our soldiers have proved their value time and again and all found the experience both rewarding and exciting. They are fully equipped with all the latest issue of desert kit and before reaching Iraq, they under went pre deployment training to ensure they were fully conversant with the theatre.
Lt Col Russell RA(V), former Commanding Officer visits TA Gunners drawn from across the UK on Op TELIC 3. This patrol compromised exclusively of TA personnel and a local interpreter and conducted routine patrols throughout the Basra Province.
United Kingdom
In light of the events of 9/11, the UK Government and the MOD conceived the Civil Contingency Reaction Force (CCRF) manned predominantly by the TA. All our soldiers are prepared to serve in the CCRF and receive additional pay and training. The force is always available to react to any threat or circumstance from acts of terror to natural disasters.
