Biography

Before she joined the UK Commission for Employment and Skills in February 2009, Catherine was working as a library officer on the DCSF-funded Book Ahead Project, based at Sheffield City Council. Prior to this she was employed as an Information Advisor at Sheffield Hallam University, with responsibility for law and criminology. In this role, she managed both print and online library collections, including the University's European Documentation Centre and supported information literacy. Catherine has seven years' experience working in academic libraries, managing information in a range of forms and supporting research. She holds an MSc in Information and Library Studies from the University of Strathclyde and a first degree from the University of Dundee.
