Keeping you informed
Hello and...
Welcome to the third edition of Relicensing News which has been developed to keep employers and other stakeholders informed about the relicensing of the network of 25 Sector Skills Councils. If you missed either of the previous editions visit the archive section. Remember, if you have not already subscribed, ensure you receive future editions direct to your inbox - just send an email to relicensing.newsletter@ukces.org.uk.
As always we are keen to ensure all views are taken on board during the assessment, so if you'd like to share your views on one, or many, Sector Skills Councils, follow this link to find out how.
We would like to thank those who have taken the time to contribute their views so far and hope you will continue to be involved as we move through the process.
In this edition, we have; an update from the National Audit Office, including the site visit and reporting; further information about the Commissioners role in the process, including the SSC visit and Relicensing Panel; a look at communications through the process and news about a new 'e-alert' service that will keep you informed with up to date relicensing information!
We also want to hear your views about what you would like to see featured in future editions of Relicensing News, so if you have a question, view or suggestion, let us know.

NAO Update
The NAO has completed their analysis of tranche one SSCs (Skillset, Cogent, People 1st, Semta and FSSC). Draft reports were sent out to the SSCs for consideration to ensure consistency in approach and judgement. The Sector Skills Councils can comment on any factual inaccuracies in the reports or provide additional evidence before they submit them to the UK Commission.
Commissioner Visit and SSC Relicensing Panel
The UK Commission is led by Commissioners drawn from the highest levels of the private, public and voluntary sectors. Through the SSC Committee, they provide leadership, advice and support to UKCES officials on developing and implementing the approach to the relicensing programme, including; playing an active role in the development of the relicensing framework and Prospectus, conducting visits to the SSCs and sitting on the SSC Relicensing Panel which ultimately gives advice to government as to whether an SSC should be relicensed.
Public Communications Around Relicensing
Throughout the relicensing process, the UK Commission has made a conscious effort to ensure its communications are tailored to employer, partner and stakeholder needs. Here is a look back at what we've done and a look forward as to what you can expect.
e-alerts
