talentmap

Since the latter part of 2007 the UK Commission has been working with employer partners and stakeholders to develop and test the concept of an online tool, which helps employers work more effectively to support and benefit from current opportunities available with the publicly-funded education, employment and skills systems.

The outcome is talentmap, a webtool which helps to simplify the complex skills and employment landscape for employers. Through talentmap employers can find out about current opportunities available with the publicly-funded education, employment and skills systems.

The talentmap Framework:

  • Develop your people - A company's workforce is its most valuable asset. We help you find your way through the wide range of programmes and grants that can develop your workforce and ensure that your business is adaptable and ready for the future
  • Find new people - All businesses need to be able to recruit new people with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude. You can get help to find the right staff at every level of your business
  • Improve performance - Efficiency and innovation are essential to cope with the current recession. Get help to improve the way your business works and influence the performance of your suppliers
  • Engage with education - Engaging with education is not just about sharing your expertise with students - it's also about attracting your future workforce. Just as importantly your employees can gain new skills to bring back into the workplace
  • Support your industry - An education, employment and skills system that is responsive to the needs of industry is critical to the UK's economic success. Play your role in helping shape the system.

Content Provider Guide:

Following the launch of talentmap online in the summer of 2009, we have consulted widely with employers. In particular we have been keen to hear their views on the range and quality of web content that is available to them, as they look for publicly funded support to build talent and skills in their business.

Their feedback has been very useful, and they have shared their views both on what kind of content is most useful and how they like to see it presented. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the employers who have contributed as well as the employer organisations in the talentmap coalition for helping set up engagement sessions

We have consolidated all of the employer feedback into a Content Provider Guide which you can download here

We hope you find it useful. Please forward details of the guide to your colleagues or others who might find it of use.
