    Policy Convention

    The UK Commission for Employment and Skills is holding its first Policy Convention on 8 and 9 February.
  • The Simplification Project report “Hiding the Wiring: Final Assessment of Progress on Implementing the Recommendations in Simplification of Skills in England” is now available. The report examines the progress made into the implementation of the recommendations proposed in the UK Commission’s initial report into Simplification published in October 2008.
  • Four further Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) have been relicensed, Business, Innovation and Skills Secretary Lord Mandelson announced today, on behalf of the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations.
  • The UK Commission for Employment and Skills has published the final report in the Women and Work Sector Pathways Initiative. The report draws on a review of the literature as well as interviews with twenty one key stakeholders with an interest in the programme.
