At the time of writing RMR London has 1 SNCO (Sergeant) and 8 Marines deployed on Op Herrick 9 of which 4 are assigned to J Company 42 Commando Royal Marines (Cdo RM) with the remainder assigned to 45 Cdo RM.

A Royal Marine Reserve On Operations in Afghanistan - Sept 07 to April 08

Two Royal Marine Reservists from London perfected vital commando combat survival skills as members of the elite Royal Marines Reserve (RMR) last weekend (16-18 May 2008).

The review, announced by the Defence Secretary on 19 March 2008, aims to ensure Reserve Forces meet Defence’s needs now and into the future.

The weekend of 22 to 24 February saw RMR London holding its Potential Royal Marines Course (PRMC) for the first recruit intake of 2008. 

The 2008 Royal Navy Alpine Ski Championships were held in the French resort of Les Menuires.  Hoping to build on the massive success of the 2007 competition, RMR London once again cobbled together a small band of the willing and headed out to the Alps to size up the competition.
