Programme record for the Forestry Research Programme (FRP)
Objectives

FRP helps country partners in the eradication of poverty by supporting research on priority developmental programmes of the forest-dependent poor. These problems have been identified and documented in 23 forestry partner countries through consultation with a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives of the poor. Problems which are within the mandate of FRP must be common to two or more partner countries and may be identified through the poverty problem surveys.

Forestry Themes

FRP Projects are clustered around seven themes:

  • Tropical timber trees
  • Multipurpose tree species
  • Trees in land use systems
  • Forest management
  • Non-timber forest products
  • Peri-Urban Issues
  • Programme systems.
