BUSINESSEUROPE publishes position paper on service innovation

Services are the largest part of our economy, and offer wide scope for the creation of new jobs and novel markets. Innovation in Europe’s services sectors is trailing compared with other parts of the economy. Better awareness of the power of service innovation is needed amongst policy-makers, companies and all the stakeholders.

Monitoring the Innovation Union: what information and analysis would you need on national research and innovation policies?

Technopolis Group as partner of the ERAWATCH Network ASBL is conducting a User Survey on behalf of the European Commission DG Enterprise and Industry with the objective to understand the needs of policy makers for information on national research and innovation policies in the European Union and key competitor and emerging economies. The results will be used as an important input to the future development of the European Commission’s web-based policy monitoring platform on research and innovation policies and policy measures.

NEW VIDEO ON SERVICE INNOVATION

A new video highlights the key findings and recommendations of the Expert Panel on Service Innovation in the EU. The video underlines the catalytic role of service innovation in shaping new markets and creating new business opportunities and it advocates a more systemic approach to integrate service innovation aspects into all policies, notably Internal Market, Innovation Partnerships and emerging industries.

Enabling Role of Service Innovation in Brussels (5th of May 2011)

The leading European countries in the field of service innovation organised a networking event in Brussels around the enabling role of service innovation in value creation. The target groups included Council working groups, Commission and Parliament staff as well as other stakeholders gathering more than fifty participants from different EU institutions. The event was organized at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU by the EPISIS INNO-Net project. The programme consisted of best practices on support of service innovation from Finland, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and the UK.
